THE MONITORING COMMISSION FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF MEASURES PROVIDED IN THE STRATEGY FOR THE REFORM OF JUDICIARY


For monitoring the implementation of measures provided in the Strategy for the reform of judiciary, in accordance with the Government Decision no. 232/2005, a Monitoring Commission was constituted. This commission is formed of: the President of Superior Council of Magistracy, the Minister of Justice, the President of the High Court of Cassation and Justice, the General Prosecutor of the Prosecutors' Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice, the Directors of National Institute of Magistracy and National School of Clerks, a representative of other judicial professions (lawyers, notaries, judicial executors), a representative of the magistrates' associations, a representative of the Ministry of Public Finances.

For the sessions of the Commission representatives of the civil society and international organizations, which are financing assistance programs within the judiciary, are also invited.

The commission gathers on a trimestrial basis or whenever necessary.

The Commission analyses the fulfillment of objectives of the Strategy and proposes remedially measures for eventual deficiencies. The Commission may propose the revision of the Strategy, if it is to constantly update it with the real situation of the judiciary and the commitments assumed by Romania in the context of preparing the admission to European Union.
